was added to the “World Heritage
List” of UNESCO as it has: deep
gorges, steep cliffs, spectacular
lookouts, excellent bushwalks and rich
flora and fauna.
The Blue Mountains World Heritage
area covers 10,000 km and extends 220 km.
The Blue Mountains area contains eight conservation areas, six
Aboriginal language groups and more than 100 different types of
Eucalypt. It is also home to 127 rare or threatened plants and 52
rare or threatened animals.
